Knowledge is Powerful

I have been an educator in the performing arts for a large part of my career. I believe education is an important tool to instil confidence in an individual and the creative arts is an excellent path to doing so. I also believe the student to be a co-creator in the work, and my goals are to inspire the student to feel confident in making choices, and confident in working within an educational system.

I have taught in several places such as The School for Performing Arts in Ottawa, The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts in Burnaby, The University of British Columbia as an assistant, and Brandon University. I have taught acting, improvisation, basic voice and speech, and directed scenes and short plays. In November of 2023, I joined the faculty at The Canadian College of Performing Arts in beautiful Oak Bay, BC, and in August of 2025, I joined the faculty at Vancouver Acting School at Go Studios in Vancouver.

The co-creator is our future and knowledge is a powerful tool, but it is also a tool that can unite and create community.

Developing Your Story and Creating Adaptations Through Archive and Improv. Initial Workshop: October 16, 2023. I was a workshop leader for Bard on the Beach’s Workshop series where I brought what I learned at La MaMa in Spoleto, Italy to Vancouver artists. I combine my learnings of creating artistic works though the Unhappy Archives as led by Keng Sen Ong with improvisational techniques of Theatre of the Oppressed as taught by Iman Aoun.
